Alfonso’s Pizzeria is a locally run and family owned establishment. Alfonso, originally from Sicily, moved to the United States in 1970. He began his pizzeria business in Manhattan, NY in 1973. He named it “Gloria’s” after his beautiful wife of 38 years. After realizing the opportunities in Tampa, FL, the family moved.
When his three sons’ were old enough they each worked at the pizzeria with their father. Flash forward to 2011 and Alfonso’s Pizzeria is still a family run operation. The youngest son, Marco works closely with his dad in the business and the recipes are still the same as they were decades before. Recipes are a family kept secret and have always used high quality ingredients.
The pizzeria is settled in North Tampa between Lake Magdalene and Carrollwood. Deemed one of Tampa Bay’s best kept secret by locals. Alfonso’s has been in the same location in Tampa since 1978.
